About EarthLive.TV

A British traveler’s accidental mission to let anyone, anywhere, watch the world - live, unfiltered, and in real time.

(See the world live - from mountains to marinas, cities to safaris.)

Hi, I’m Charles - the guy behind EarthLive.TV

After finishing university in 2017, I set out to travel the world… and never really stopped.

Over the years, I’ve visited 60+ countries while working a frankly ridiculous range of jobs I wasn’t qualified for - from anti-poaching ranger in Africa, outdoor instructor at US summer camps, and lorry driver in the UK, to marketing manager, locksmith, and even a primary school teacher in Thailand.

Somewhere along the way, while exploring the far corners of the planet, I noticed one constant trend: CCTV cameras are everywhere.

What Sparked It All

If Google Earth lets you see the planet from above, why can’t we also watch it live from below? Why not a website where anyone can explore Earth - in real time - through public cameras?

The Vision

exists to showcase all of it - the beautiful and the bizarre, the natural and the man-made - through a single live window to the world.

When It Got Real

While my parents were on vacation, they tested tracking the trip via public webcams-from Bristol to a hotel in Malta-finding it both slightly creepy and impressively effective, demonstrating the concept’s potential.

Real-Life 1998 Truman Show

A man unknowingly living his entire life on camera, broadcast to the world. Well… welcome to the real-world version - except now, you’re the watcher, and the watched.
